IMPORTANT NOTICE - IT US THE 4 BELOVED PAWS THAT DECIDE, WHAT HOME IS THE BEST FOR THE DOG. WE CHOOSE YOU NO LESS THAN YOU CHOOSE THE DOG. IF WE BELIEVE IT IS NOT A GOOD MATCH, THE DOG WON'T BE GIVEN. We are striving to find the best home for the dog and the best dog for YOU, not simply A home or A dog. Please be understanding, if your application will get rejected.

 

 

PROCESS CAN GO TWO WAYS.

1 - You are welcome to contact us, telling us a bit about yourself and what you are looking for. Then we look through Lithuanian shelters, what could suit you. We send you some options with photos, videos and description. If you see someone you like, we can provide further more information. If it feels like the right dog, we prepare the dog for the trip. You can later pick the dog up from 4 Beloved Paws home, where you will get the opportunity to get to know the dog first and ask any questions you might have. We sign the contract and you can start your lives together.

*In certain situations, it can be agreed to deliver the dog directly to you. The contract must be signed and the money have to be paid before hand.

2 - You are interested in one of the dogs we have in foster care, already in Denmark. Contact us with information about you and why you think you would be the right home. If we believe it could be a match, you are welcome to visit, to get to know the dog and make your decision afterwards. If we believe you would be a great home, but unfortunately not for the dog we have in foster, we may show you some other option's that might suit you better.

 

*In some instances, it can be agreed, that we come with the dog to you. to meet and see if it's a match.

ALL DOGS ARE IN LITHUANIA. EXCEPT THE DOGS WE HAVE IN FOSTER CARE, THEY ARE ALREADY IN DENMARK.

IF YOU CHOOSE A DOG, IN LITHUANIA:

​

• The chosen dog is examined by veterinarian, vaccinated, chipped, dewormed. European passport is given out. 

• There is 21 day of quarantine after vaccination, before the pet can travel. The youngest age for this vaccination is 3 months old. That means, if you decide to adopt a puppy, you will have to wait until it's 3 months old and then 21 days more until it can travel to you. During all that time you will be updated on the well being and growth of your puppy.

• All dogs arrive with transportation company, in a minibus. The trip takes between 16h-24h. During the trip, the dog is being periodically walked, given water, food, properly taken care off. 

• 4 Beloved Paws pick up the dog from delivery point and take it into their care, unless agreed otherwise.

• You can pick up your dog, when you are ready, from 4BP home.

IMPORTANT: The trip, the changes are exhausting and stresfull. It affects each dog differently. As a rule, it takes at least 3 days to decompress. Give the dog time and space, help them and be understanding.

IF YOU CHOOSE A DOG, IN FOSTER CARE:

​

• After you introduce yourself and we believe it could be a match, we agree on a visit and discuss the rest in person. 

• Once contract is signed, and price paid, you leave home with new family member, useful tips and some things for the start.

DOGS for adoption

​

- are vaccinated, full vaccination

- dewormed,

- have a chip,

- are flea treated,

- have been checked by vet,

- have EU passport

- are sterilised/kastrated*

- teeth cleaned (if needed)

- with primary blood test for future references

*unless in exceptional cases it could not be performed, before the dog's new home

**All information we have, you will have too. We are transparent and honest to the best of our abilities. You simply have to understand, that in some cases, some information, neither we nor the shelter can have, if, for example, the dog was found in the woods or on the street. With dogs that were found, we can only provide the information we gather since they were found.

PRICESS

​

- Prices vary between 3000Dkk - 3500dkk. The money go to the shelter, where the dog came from. It covers the preparation and health procedures, including a small support for the shelter if anything is left. If you want to donate to the shelter more, you are always welcome. At this moment, part of the money will also go to transportation expenses, as covid-19 has caused complications in travel industry.

In some instances the prices can be higher or lower, depending on special situations, for example if a dog is a special needs dog. 

 

*At this point, 4 Beloved Paws does not accept donations, nor earn anything from it. We leave the right for us to change donation policy in the future, as we have big plans for our mission.

All dogs leave to new homes, only with signed contract.The contract is valid document, written by several lawyers. It is life long and if the terms are not kept, the dog will be taken away. The main rules are - never giving the dog to third party or euthanising, without 4 Beloved Paws knowledge. The dogs also, may in NO WAY be used for breeding. If the dogs, because of special circumstances were not sterilised before new home, it must be done in new home, at new owners expense and in their care. New owners, understandably, will have the information before hand, to help them with their decision. We also would like to be kept up to date, how the dogs are doing, from time to time. There are multiple ways to do that, including a FB group, where updates can be shared and are very welcome.

Upon adopting via us, you become family. We are always there to help, assist, support, or give and advice. Therefore, it is important to contact us first, if trouble's arise. And, if for a valid reason, the dog can not stay with you anymore, it has to go into 4BP care, unless in specific situations it is agreed otherwise.
